AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, updated the website recently and they are now actively providing expert opinion in view of the recent news on Yasmin lawsuits and Yasmin Class Action lawsuits.

On May 14, the US Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) informed that there are 9,961 actions pending in the Yasmin/Yaz MDL (No 2100, US District Court, Southern District of Illinois). Yasmin, which was approved by the FDA in 2001, and its sister drug Yaz, which was approved in 2006, are oral contraceptives that combine estrogen and a fourth generation progestin, drospirenone, to prevent pregnancy. Yasmin and Yaz are manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals.

Thomson Reuters published on March 20, that Bayer agreed to settle lawsuits alleging gallbladder injuries from Yasmin and Yaz. According to Thomson Reuters Bayer will pay $ 2,000 to plaintiffs who suffered gallbladder injuries and $ 3,000 to individuals who had their gallbladders removed, according to the agreement.

Taking into consideration the latest developments, AttorneyOne.com updated the website and, now, can actively provide an expert opinion including how to get in contact with legal counsel easily and inexpensively in case of alleged Yasmin and Yaz severe complications. Sean Burke, director of Media Relations at AttorneyOne.com, adds that the relevant information illustrates that people continue to file Yasmin and Yaz lawsuits. “For that reason”, he continues, “our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.

On December 11, 2012, five plaintiffs filed a lawsuit in Illinois Southern District Court (case no. 3:2012cv11630) alleging they suffered serious medical issues from their use of Yasmin and Yaz. In the lawsuit, the estate of a woman alleges she died after having a stroke having taken Yasmin or Yaz for slightly over a month. Another plaintiff claims she developed severe complications with her gallbladder from her use of the drugs that required its removal. The other three plaintiffs claim they suffer from Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), blood clots and heart blockage caused by Yasmin and Yaz.
